One of the lessons is learning that having food available that you once considered "bad" and allowing yourself to have some and then stopping before you eat all of it is an awesome way to learn that food does not control you and that with God's help you can control the food. Even though you felt negative feelings for eating any cookies at all - I think you should be proud of yourself for stopping. Thats a huge success and major progress. God gave you stength in a situation that in the past has created weakness.

Although the book is not Christain based - I would recommend it. It talks about learning to listen to your body and eat what it is hungry for and learning to recognized the feelings of hunger, fullness, and satiation. It's written by Judith Matz and Ellen Frankel. No dieting involved!

I enjoy reading your blog, I think a lot of what you say can be sympathized with by the majority of the female population. I feel a connection with you just by reading your words. Thank you for sharing your story. It's very touching and inspiring. May God Bless YouAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
